Q.1 Explain the
concept of Management. Discuss the importance of Management.
Answer: Management in businesses and organizations is the
function that coordinates the efforts of people to accomplish goals and
objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively. Management is
concerned with human beings whose behavior is highly unpredictable. Ever since
people began forming groups to achieve goal, they could not achieve as
individuals. Managing has been essential to provide the coordination of
individual’s efforts. Management is found in every walk of life.

Q.2 Discuss the
steps involved in the Planning process.
Answer: The various stages in the process of planning are
as follows:
1. Goal setting:
Plans are the means to achieve certain ends or objectives. Therefore,
establishment of organizational or overall objectives is the first step in
planning. Setting objectives is the most crucial part of planning. The
organizational objectives should be set in key areas of operations.
They should be verifiable i.e., they should as far as
possible be specified in clear and measurable terms. The objectives are set in
the light of the opportunities ---------------------
Q.3 What do you mean
by Control? Explain the pre-requisites of an effective Control system.
Answer: Controlling can be defined as measuring and
correcting of performance to achieve the organisational goals. According to
Brech, “Controlling is a systematic exercise which is called as a process of
checking actual performance against the standards or plans with a view to
ensure adequate progress and also recording such experience as is gained as a
contribution to possible future needs----------------
Q.4 Discuss the
concept of a Group. Explain the purpose of a Group. Discuss the types of Formal
Groups.
Answer: A collection of individuals who have regular
contact and frequent interaction, mutual influence, common feeling of
camaraderie, and who work together to achieve a common set of goals. A group is
a collection of individuals who interact with each other such that one person’s
actions have an impact on the others. In organizations, most work is done
within groups. How groups function has important implications for
organizational productivity----------------
Q.5 Discuss any ten
characteristics of an Effective team.
Answer: ‘Building blocks’ of high performing teams and how
to develop these in organisation.
